over and over and over again. it was a historic deadlock that also exposed rifts within the republican party, as the far right factions jockey for power in the new congress, forcing kevin mccarthy to make concessions in exchange for their votes to make him speaker. mccarthy eventually pulled through, and won the race, but there s been a question ever since about exactly what kind of deals he made in order to secure those votes. it s believed that among the list of concessions he made, promises about committee assignments. you often hear about the shuffling of committee assignments every now and then, because there are some coveted positions and the powerful committees that congress members law before in order to gain influence and prestige. that s exactly why the far-right members of the gop wanted that leverage. so, some of the 21 measures who initially voted against mccarthy as speaker have already been appointed to plump positions. for example, conspiracy theories, andy biggs, laure
in the case of all three of these expulsions, there s either political revenge, or there is the absolute agenda. of racist, assange knee, xenophobic those three points, an addition to the political revenge, constitute modern trumpian politics. it s the pettiness, revenge, scorekeeping, and the use and the race, and baiting of identity in order to divide people up. what do you think speaker mccarthy, specifically, gets out of this? i think speaker mccarthy gets a fundraising boom, i think he gets potentially, trump and his base saying, i delivered on these promises. i m a good soldier to the trumpian political base. i m really letting the world know, that the house republican party is now being fully transformed. we re cementing the transformation. even with donald trump being, on their cementing the transformation of the republican party into a trumpian party. when that settles petty political scores. that s no longer motivated by classic, quote unquote, conservative politics
here, tammy, he talked about the hunter biden investigation. he did. and i think actually what americans want to see this, right, these are questions that we have had about that, about the laptop, about whether or not you are getting the right answers from congress. ranging from the fight to make him speaker, to the issues he addressed today, both of those different issues, very different issues. americans appreciate hearing that kind of clarity, seeing him engage the media and we know we need more information, whether it s about the laptop or ilhan omar and what other committees she s on, americans feel they are a part of it, good news. i think a lot of democrats represent large jewish constituencies who are very relieved by this. they did not have to do it themself but saw ilhan omar get checked, a lot of relief. they voted for her, though. yeah, but in other districts, with different representatives, who happen to be democrats, they
