Wycombe MP Steve Baker has donated money and launched an appeal for help after a volcano eruption in St Vincent caused devastation. More than 16,000 people have been forced out of their homes after the La Soufrière volcano erupted on Friday, April 9, blanketing the island in ash. High Wycombe has the largest population of Vincentians in the UK. Smaller volcano explosions happened over the weekend, causing power cuts, and further eruptions are expected. Wycombe MP Steve Baker has made an appeal for help for those living in St Vincent and the Grenadines and has been in touch with the SVG High Commissioner in London and government ministers.
