The thick of it: cleaning up in Hillingdon last September THE Great British Spring Clean, organised by Keep Britain Tidy, runs from May 28 to June 13 and Hillingdon Council is inviting people to join one of its three community litter-picking events. Due to a sharp increase in use of borough parks during the COVID-19 pandemic, the council has installed larger bins in busy areas and increased the frequency of visits by its litter crews. Volunteer groups, including Hillingdon Litter Pickers, are also supported by the council to regularly collect rubbish along rivers, streets, parks and open spaces. Litter-picking events will take place at Hillingdon House Farm on Wednesday, May 26, from 11am to 1pm, Pinn Meadows in Ruislip on Saturday, June 12, 10.30am-12pm, and Cranford Park on Sunday, June 13, 11am-1pm.
