Carlisle schoolgirl rape trial accused: "My life's been destroyed by this.'

1/1 A MAN accused of raping a schoolgirl told jurors no sexual activity occurred and said of being under suspicion: “My life’s been destroyed by this.” James Nelson, 35, and Arran Toal, 37, are on trial at Carlisle Crown Court. They both deny the alleged rape of different girls at the latter’s Hillary Grove city home on January 20, 2018. They also deny an alternative charge alleging sexual activity with the respective children. Giving evidence yesterday, both insisted they did nothing wrong. Nelson initially drove the girls - then aged 13 and 14 - into Carlisle that evening before agreeing to transport them to one of their houses out of the city.
