This month, residents at Hill Street Place went on an indoor scavenger hunt, collecting hidden pieces that could be put together to make cut-out snowman decorations. Residents brought the parts to the Hill Street Place dining room to put them together. To go with the snowman decorations, Hill Street Place staff cut out snowflakes using residentsâ names to make unique patterns.
MARSHALL Â January can sometimes be a time for the winter blues, but staff and residents at Hill Street place have still found ways to have fun this month.
“We really tried to make January uplifting,” said Susie Sammons, housing director at Hill Street Place in Marshall. Residents have been taking part in winter-themed activities like making snowflake decorations for the dining room, and going on a hunt for parts to “build” snowmen decorations.

MARSHALL Mass of Christian Burial for Donald Hammer, 92, of Marshall, formerly of Minneota, will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. A walk through visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at a later date. Donald William Hammer was born on May 24, 1928, to William and Christine (Goodmundson) Hammer. He grew up on his family farm in Nordland Township. Don graduated from Lynd High School and played on the state basketball tournament runner up team in 1946. After high school, he attended Saint Cloud State for one year.
