Registering online is preferred, but those who are unable to do so may sign up by phone.

At just after 7 p.m., Hill County storm spotters were activated with radar-detected rotation in a thunderstorm near Blum. Spotters confirmed two funnel clouds in the area. Heavy rain and hail accompanied the storms, with round one affecting mainly northern Hill County into Johnson County. A tornado warning was issued, and damage was reported in several areas along HCR 1106 into Rio Vista and was still being assessed as of The Reporter Newspaper s press time Tuesday morning.

Share ESD 2 Moves Forward With Plans For Hillsboro Facility The Emergency Services District (ESD) 2 Board of Commissioners met in a regular session Tuesday, April 13, and made changes to the district s latest project to build an ambulance station in Hillsboro. The board previously approved a request for proposals outlining the project but voted to amend the project description based on new information that the architect received from Texas Accessibility Specialists regarding Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance. Board President Tad Duncan said that the latest standards require that both restrooms be ADA compliant instead of just one. Accomplishing that will also cause other aspects of the project to be altered.

Share Over 30% Of Hill County Residents Now Vaccinated Data collected by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) shows that 31% of Hill County residents over the age of 16 had received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as of the beginning of the week. The data also shows that 24% of Hill County residents over the age of 16 including almost 50% of those over 65 are now fully vaccinated. Statewide as of Monday, approximately 5.6 million Texans were fully vaccinated, and 14.3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered. DSHS was estimating 41 active cases of COVID-19 in Hill County as of Monday. The number of Hill County residents who have lost their lives due to the virus since the pandemic began was reported at 105 as of Monday.
