City amends budget for downtown master plan $20,000 grant for plan added to budget   Last updated 4/6/2021 at 11:44am Following a meeting Monday night Havre City Council members amended the budget to include a Community Development Block Grant/Home Fund Grant to help with the cost of developing a downtown master plan. Havre was awarded $20,000 by The Montana Department of Commerce through its Main Street Montana program to develop the master plan. The total cost of the master plan is expected to be between $40,000 and $50,000. The Hill County Community Foundation has provided $5,000 in funding and an announcement concerning the remainder of funding being provided through the Big Sky Trust Fund is expecte.

Following the completion of the mural project in September of 2019, which culminated in the colorful artwork that adorns the west side of the Hill County Printing building, the work of the local volunteer Havre Main Street Group continued. The next project was developing an art alley in downtown Havre. The chosen alley was between Second and Third streets and Third and Fourth avenues, or the alley behind several downtown businesses, including Havre Home Center and Cavaliers. But why an Art Alley?
