sandbar. he s been stranded there since friday after his owner and a couple of riders got caught up in some rough currents in the hila river. the owner ended up in the river, and colorado swam to a sandbar. mark was there with the volunteers as they landed on the sandbar this morning. the horse didn t even put up a fight, he was tired, hungry, ready to go home. they track by rised the horse, hay got a special harness on him, and they put blinders on him as well. he weighs about 900 pounds, but it wasn t any problem for that helicopter. they re used to carrying even a lot heavier weight than that. these were volunteers from the equine arizona rescue service here, and they were helping out. they had a long line attached to the horse, and as you can see, slowly flew him about 30 seconds in the air about a half mile. he landed safely, and that was the big concern is that he might bolt when he hit the ground, but he didn t. he was very calm through the whole thing and probably very
