Arkwright puts moratorium on solar | News, Sports, Jobs

adolce@observertoday.com ARKWRIGHT Town Supervisor Brian McAvoy said the town has placed a moratorium on the commercial solar development. The moratorium will last six months, and give the board time to learn and discuss what is best for the town. “It makes good sense when a municipality is making up its mind on what to do,” McAvoy said. “We’ve had a couple developers ask us in passing about solar developments but no land owners.” Citing time to receive public comment, study, and understand what they think is best for the town, McAvoy said that they’ll make another decision at the end of the six month period.
