The Emir has replaced Ali Sharif al-Emadi with the minister of commerce and industry taking over his duties
Qatar’s Finance Minister Ali Sharif al-Emadi has been relieved of his duties, an order for his arrest has been issued to investigate reports of corruption.
“His Highness The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued Emiri Order Number 1 of 2021 relieving Minister of Finance Ali Shareef al-Emadi, from his position, and that His Excellency Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari, shall be entrusted, in addition to his duties, to carry out the duties of the Minister of Finance,” the Emiri Diwan said in a statement on 6 May.
