Death sentence upheld for man over kindergarten knife attack

NANNING, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) The Higher People s Court in south China s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Wednesday announced it was upholding the death penalty for a man who committed a kindergarten knife attack.
On Sept. 8, the Intermediate People s Court of Wuzhou City ruled on the first trial of the case, convicting the man, named Li Xiaowen, of homicide.
Wrapping up the appeal case, the higher court said the original ruling was based on clear facts and sufficient evidence.
On June 4 this year, Li, a school security worker, injured dozens of people, including children, in a knife attack at the kindergarten affiliated to the central school of Wangfu Township in Cangwu County, according to the court. Enditem
