younger from the x generation down we know social security can t pay us. there s a 5.3 trillion dollar shortfall. i propose modest changes. higher income don t get as much. down we adjust the age to reflect longevity. give younger people a voluntary choice to have an account for their benefits, like i have as a congressman, like every other federal worker has. if you don t want this account like what we have in congress, you don t have to take it. you can stay in the traditional program. according to trust trees and the congressional budget office, social security is permanently solvent. it is being used against republicans across the country. what they are trying to do is scare seniors by demagoguing and misleading them about these reforms to save the program. the seariest thing is doing nothing. the scariest thing is doing nothing. dog knowing means those people
right, six, eight months ago when he was still a republican running in the primary he was pretending to stand for the same things he now attacks me for. it goes beyond that. here in florida i have now garnered, something that is difficult for republicans to do, the endorsement of six major newspapers. i have more major newspaper endorsement than any other candidate for the united states senate. these aren t necessarily the thing you will find as a domain of right wing republicans. many of these newspapers have supported democrats like barack obama in the past. it isn t because we compromised on our principles, it is because we have principles and because we have ideas. that s what we ve campaigned the entire 21 months on, our principles and our ideas. we don t need compromise on our principles. the people who don t hold those principles are outside the mainstream. mike: marco, thank you for being with me. if you watch in show you know
