Fowler board of education discussed events, graduation in meeting

LA Junta Tribune The Fowler School District R4J hosted its second board of education meeting of the month on April 19 at the district office. Superintendent Alfie Lotrich presented a draft handout that detailed the End of Year Capacity information. The State of Colorado has retired the COVID-19 dial dashboard and has turned the decision over to each individual county. Otero County currently has a capacity of 500 spectators for indoor events with each spectator wearing masks. However, outdoor events have no spectator limitations. This could change to be more or less restrictive depending on COVID case numbers. Lotrich also discussed the following school events. The fifth- and sixth-grade band concert will be on April 26 on the Fowler Elementary School north lawn with no spectator limit. The Junior High and High School band concert will be April 27, also on the FES north lawn with no spectator limit.
