OXFORD â Oxford school principals gave updates on student achievement, teaching and learning and family engagement during a Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, December 8, and highlighted certain struggles they have encountered with remote learning.
Principals said student achievement has decreased, noting students are not meeting the usual âat goalâ marks. Oxford High School Principal Dorothy Potter said OHS teachers have noticed several students are struggling with remote learning. She said the staff is planning to try an in-person program for struggling students.
âWe need to provide more support for struggling students who are failing two or more classes,â said Ms. Potter. âWe are planning to bring those kids back to school even if the high school is remote.â
