Godby High School teacher Althea Valle has been named the 2020-2021 Leon County Schools Teacher of the Year. She was surprised with the honor by Superintendent Rocky Hanna, joined by other administrative staff members, on Thursday morning. Valle has been a teacher at Godby for the past nine years and a teacher for 19 years, with 15 of those years spent in Leon County Schools. Currently, she teaches English 1-4 through ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) and Developing Language ESOL classes. As an immigrant, Valle knows first-hand what it is like to adapt to a different culture and learn a new language.
