Butts was pastor of Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem for 33 years and was president of the State University of New York College at Old Westbury from 1999-2020.
Police arrested a 15-year-old boy who allegedly shot and killed Kyahara Tay, 11. They have also launched a manhunt for Omar Bojang, 18, who is believed to be the suspected gunman s getaway driver.
