Feb 16, 2021 One of the main jumping-off points for trips in the High Peaks of the Adirondacks is closed after someone connected to the facility tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Adirondack Loj, outside of Lake Placid, and the High Peaks Visitors Center have been closed since last Friday and will remain closed until further notice. The Adirondack Mountain Club, which operates the facilities, says the parking lots will remain open, as will the public restrooms. Ski and snowshoe rentals will not be available.
