A GoFundMe account has been started to support the family of a Naples police officer, who was killed in a car crash Thursday, raising thousands of dollars within hours.
Naples Police Sgt. Jeffrey Reidy, a father of four, died in an off-duty crash in Lee County. He was 41 and most recently assigned to the department s patrol division, according to the Naples Police Department.
The GoFundMe account was created by Buddy Bonollo, a coworker and friend, to support Reidy s family in whatever way they need.
Reidy leaves a wife, Jennifer, and four children: Gavin, Rylin, Emma and Charlie, according to the GoFundMe page. They live in Estero.

Florida Highway Patrol said a 41-year-old Estero man was driving an SUV west on Corkscrew Road near Burgundy Farms Road about 11:50 a.m. A 32-year-old Estero woman was driving an SUV in front of him. She slowed down because of traffic stopped in a construction zone.
