A Petoskey-based cab company, A Reliable Ride, is one of the few taxi services available in the area.
The owner and driver, Dean, started A Reliable Ride in November 2019 after his house burned down and his wife passed away from lung cancer.
“That’s a huge reward knowing that you’ve helped people out and they’ve arrived home safely,” he said.
Dean takes his dog, Sasha, with him on every ride, and they both enjoy traveling all around Northern Michigan.
But now, Dean’s run into a problem with his vehicle.
“There’s no fixing the vehicle because of the structural parts of the car rotting away,” he said. “I can’t seem to get it out of second gear.”
