We have been checking with the jail but right now, its stillnot clear when he will be taken back to federal prison in west virginiap he was brought to charlotte for the First Time Since he started to serve his 44 month sentence on corruption charges. His punishment for the voter fraud charge is 1 day behind bars and that will be included in his current prison term. Because cannon is still in Mecklenburg County its not clear yet how much taxpayer money was spent total on his Court Appearance and his transportation. But channel 9 has learned that it cost 157 dollars and 4 cents per day he stays at the jail. Eyewitness News Reporter jim bradley is live where a protester is asking the governor and the General Assembly to stop the ordinance. Ever since City Council Members voted to expand the anti discrimination ordinance, this issue exploded in controversy all over the state. Supporters have been vocal over the last few week. Opponents are taking their turn outside the government center. Several dozen people gathering saying they want to ask the governor to call a special session in the legislature to ordinance. Republicans in control in raleigh are working on legislation that would strike down the bathroom portion of the ordinance and keep other cities from around the state enacting laws similar to charlottes.
