Two months into its refurbishment, Heywood Magic Market has nearly completed phase one of its transformation.
To help existing businesses and entice new ones, work to revitalise the look and feel of the local market, based on York Street, began on Monday 15 February.
Funded entirely by Heywood Market Board, local building contractors Armstrong’s are responsible for the ongoing modifications.
A representative of Heywood Market Board said: “We are really pleased with how the transformation is going.
“Phase one is nearly completed, so we are getting ready to move onto phase two of the process.
“Heywood Market Board have funded this entire project by themselves to hopefully revitalise and regenerate the market to enable our traders/tenants to continue and develop their businesses.
