Edgar Archila as he appeared while housed in a federal detention facility in 2018, in Marysville, Calif. before being deported. Archila was deported from the Bay Area to Guatemala after a police traffic stop but a federal appeals court ruled he must be brought back and given a chance to challenge his deportation because he faced a likelihood of torture in the Central American nation. But the ruling was too late. He died in Guatemala two weeks ago.unknown/handout / Courtesy Andrew Holley
