The proposals, for Zone C of the nine-acre development, include three buildings and a neighbourhood park. Planning permission for 607 homes to be built on the former gas works was granted in March 2020. The site has now been split into zones, with detailed planning applications submitted for each. Under the plans for Zone C there would be 61 car parking bays and 122 cycle parking spaces for the 96 flats. One of the blocks will have a concierge service, including a parcel delivery storage room. The proposals will see studio, one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom apartments built. There will be solar panels on the roof and flats will have private balconies or terraces.
PLANS for 119 apartments and a community venue to be built on part of the former Heworth gasworks site have been submitted. Work to clear the site has taken place during the past six months, with the main gas holder structure recently removed. In total, 607 apartments are set to be built. The site has been split up into zones and a detailed planning application has now been put forward for zone A next to the junction of Heworth Green and Eboracum Way. It includes two five-storey apartment buildings of 119 total flats and a 130sqm ground floor unit that could be used as a shop or a community hub.
