The Easter Bunny sharing the limelight with his marsupial friends, to bring some of the Easter sparkle that was missing for staff in 2020.
Mammal keeper Hewin Hochkins says, “We love having a bit of fun around the holidays and Easter is no exception! Our animals can always seem to tell when it’s an exciting time of the year, and now that school holidays have begun, it’s been so joyful to see so many smiling faces visiting us.”
An unlikely but adorable friendship has formed between a baby koala and a kangaroo joey at the Australian Reptile Park.
Ash the koala was one of the first joeys born from a successful breeding program following the horror bushfires that killed tens of thousands of the species.
She has since found comfort in Frankie, a rescue baby kangaroo, who has been visiting the koala yard each day while she recovers from a foot condition.
Zookeepers were in awe when Ash first crawled down from her perch to introduce herself to the baby kangaroo - and now weeks later the pair are inseparable.
