Free rapid COVID-19 tests are available at these Utah locations this week

SALT LAKE CITY The state of Utah is continuing to provide free COVID-19 rapid antigen tests to residents. The move by the Utah Department of Health aims to help drive down the community spread of the virus. Anyone over the age of 5 is eligible to receive a test, even if they re not experiencing symptoms. UDOH asks residents to register for their test before arriving at the site. If you do not register online or can t register online, you will be able to register at the site but it will take longer for you to be tested, said UDOH. Once the test is completed, UDOH will email the results from CV19result@utah.gov anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours. If there s trouble opening the email or it doesn t come after a few hours, call 385-273-7878 for assistance.

In classrooms across Utah, students are taking mindful minutes before tests and asking for 10-minute breaks so they can refocus. Elementary students are learning how to name their emotions during circle times in the mornings, while teens delve into relationship skills not just in health class, but also in advisory periods and even driver’s ed. This type of curriculum, called social emotional learning, is being added and expanded at Utah schools this year, helping students understand and manage emotions, build positive relationships, make responsible decisions and show empathy for others.

KSL TV SALT LAKE CITY Another 462 COVID-19 cases were reported Monday with two more deaths, according to Utah Department of Health officials. The state s seven-day running average people over people positivity fell to 14.1% while the state s test over test rate dropped to 6.4%. Health department officials said a Weber County man and a Utah County man died as a result of the coronavirus. Both were between the ages of 65 and 84, and both were hospitalized at the time of their deaths.
