Montrose, IA- Lee County Conservation is inviting residents to join them for a free family float event at Heron Bend Conservation Area. According to a news release, the event will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, June 15th. This event offers a unique opportunity to explore the backwaters of the Mississippi River by canoe or kayak, guided by expert naturalists. Participants can enjoy a safe and shallow section of the river, ideal for beginners and young paddlers. Lee County Conservation will provide all necessary equipment, including watercraft and life vests. The event is weather dependent and pre-registration is required.
