STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Mayoral frontrunner Andrew Yang visited Staten Island Friday and introduced his plan to tackle an issue that has decimated the community.
As part of his policy plan addressing opioid dependency, Yang stressed the importance of not treating people with opioid addiction as criminals.
“This is a critical issue that we have to do better on, because people are losing their family members,” he said. “We have to approach this as the public health crisis that it is.”
