With the popularity of
Rising of the Shield Hero and the ongoing manga and spinoff material out there, it wasn’t a big surprise during Crunchyroll Expo 2019 that we learned there would be more. That they announced both a second
and a third season was surprising. It’s been quiet since that came up in September 2019 but we did learn some things back in September 2020. Namely that Masato Jinbo will be directing this season and that it’s going to land in 2021 – and that there won’t be a long wait between the second and third seasons unlike between the first and second.
