Two sheep have been slaughtered and their bodies stolen, with only the heads and feet left behind.
The carcases of the animals were taken from a field Highfield Farm in Cadwell near Louth.
Lincolnshire Police have launched an investigation into the illegal butchery, which is believed to have happened overnight between Wednesday and Thursday.
The remaining bodies were discovered at 7.30am yesterday.
Sgt James Perring, a Rural, Wildlife and Heritage Crime Officers with Lincolnshire Police, has warned about about the serious consequences of this type of crime.
