RPIRG working groups offer opportunities to students
Funding, support available
The Regina Public Interest Group (RPIRG) recently announced that they are adding two new working groups, one with the University of Regina Psychology Students Association (PSA), and one with the Non-Profit Youth Leadership Network (NPYLN).
“Working groups are involved in projects or initiatives that fit within RPIRG’s broad mandate of social and environmental justice and have chosen to affiliate with RPIRG to mutually benefit from each other’s work. RPIRG provides them with small scale operational funding, as well as other types of support, to help them succeed,” said RPIRG Executive Director, Krystal Lewis.

Findura said he did visit the home and was shocked to see the disrepair and how the house got to that point. He said it s ready to fall apart. I ve always fought for heritage, Findura said. I would love to keep it as a heritage . It s important for our city, but this house, unfortunately, it s done it s course.
Findura said he s hearing from the owners that it would bring a new family to the area and remember the heritage of this home potentially with a plaque.
Community centre, garden potentially coming to Regina s heritage area

Ash-Moccasin filed a complaint with the Public Complaints Commission and it ruled excessive force was used.
He said he fully supports the call to defund police. We live under racist laws, racist legislation [like] the Indian Act. When do we get our say, or chance to shine, if you will? We don t because there s a lot of fear out there, he said.
Ash-Moccasin said he can t justify spending more tax dollars on an organization with a history of inflicting harm on Indigenous people. It s always something that we have to always watch out for, he said. So yeah, defund them. Defund them because I don t want my children to grow up in this kind of life anymore.
