Revel, an electric mobility company, said that it plans to launch its all-Tesla ride-hailing service in the near future despite having its bid blocked by the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC).
TLC’s revised rules would allow Revel to operate its ride-hailing service if it bought 50 for-hire gas cars and changed their licences for the Tesla models it intended to use, according to the New York Post. Revel’s Chief Executive Officer Frank Reig said that this requirement is “the very definition of limiting market competition.”
