Kanawha County Schools recently named its employees of the year, recognizing a teacher, counselor, service personnel and professional who have shown outstanding dedication to the students of Kanawha County. They are: Jodi Grimm, a sixth-grade teacher at Elkview Middle School, Teacher of the Year; Trinity Resler is completing her first year as an elementary counselor at Nitro Elementary, Counselor of the Year; Service Personnel of the Year winner Susan Wiley has worked with Kanawha County Schools for 30 years and has held several positions in that time. For the past 11 years, Wiley has been a clerk and secretary at Dupont Middle School. Professional Employee of the Year, Executive director of safety and security Keith Vititoe.

The Kanawha County Commission approved several voting precinct changes at their Thursday night meeting. County Clerk Vera McCormick said most of the changes are for efficiency and won t change the polling places for voters. About seven of the changes will change a polling place for some voters. Letters will be sent out in the next few weeks to notify affected voters.
