Missionvale Care Centre founder Sister Ethel Normoyle has called on the people of Gqeberha to continue supporting the centre and its work to uplift the poor. The inaugural winner of The Herald Citizen of the Year Awards in 1989 contracted lung cancer and had to fly to Ireland suddenly last week so she could be with her family while she received specialised medical care.

Anticipating a bright, new semester at Montserrat College of Art
The doom and gloom scenarios bantered about on the demise of colleges and universities in Massachusetts, especially during the past semester when students, faculty, and staff spent inordinate amounts of time dealing with safety during the spread of COVID-19 are vastly overstated locally.
I am proud to report that at Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, our community bucked the trend. During a semester when some colleges were corralling students away from crowded gatherings, the Montserrat community stayed vigilant about mask-wearing, hand-washing, social distancing, and remaining focused.
