See plans for new roundabout, carpark on busy road

Premium Content Subscriber only A busy Goonellabah intersection will soon be easier to navigate with plans for a new roundabout forging ahead. Lismore City Council will dedicate land at the intersection of Oliver Ave, Taylor Rd, and Holland St - part of Hepburn Park - to form a roundabout, kerb and guttering, and a carpark. The Lismore Employment Lands Project aims to link Oliver Ave between Holland Street and Pineapple Road.     The project will also see modifications and upgrades to the existing roundabout at Bruxner Highway/Holland Street, and filling of council-owned land at 260 Oliver Ave to facilitate additional industrial lots.

The Lismore Samson Fitness Challenge kicks off tonight in Lismore with the express aim of raising much needed funds for the Our Kids charity. The Our Kids charity works to raise money to purchase paediatric equipment for the Children’s Ward and Special Care Nursery at Lismore Base Hospital. They also contribute to other local hospitals including Tweed and Grafton, so kids can receive specialist medical care locally. This year the Samson has three events; The Samson, Samson Kids and Samson Solo. Samson solo Samson solo, that will be run tonight, 5 March, starting at 6pm is an individual event that will see individual competitors pit themselves against each other. The Samson Solo will consist of heats, with the winners going through to the evening’s main event, the Grand Final, to decide the ultimate winner.

At Hepburn Park, Goonellabah, around 20 players from the Swans senior men s and women s squads particpated in the 45 minutes exercise and skills session conducted by new senior men s coach Ashley Prichard, 51, and assistant coach Glenn Burns, 45.
