The retired police officer with Thames Valley Police, and now radio presenter of weekly Irish music programme, Irish Eye , had planned to get home last March before the pandemic hit, but, with Flybe going into liquidation and Covid-19 taking hold, he has yet to make it back to his beloved home.
The 73 year old, father of two, and eldest of ten grew up on the family farm near Cliffoney, moved to England in the late 1960s.
Mr Wymbs lives in Oxfordshire with his wife Sally and acknowledges the huge impact the pandemic has had on people with social events and engagements cancelled as restrictions were enforced, affecting millions of people.
