I have watched America wrestle for the past 13 months with Covid-19 and the changing science around how best to contain it and ultimately corral it.
One commonly recurring theme by those who do not want to follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or governmental orders has been, “It’s an infringement on my freedom, hence I don’t have to if I don’t want to, and I shouldn’t be punished for exercising my freedom.”
So I thought it would be worthwhile to remind the church that freedom is not an absolute good in the New Testament. Instead, freedom in the New Testament is both “freedom from” something and “freedom for” something.
On the Keys is about the most versatile of instruments, the piano. But it also features the organ, the harpsichord and most anything that has a keyboard or manual. All genres are fair game, including song cycles, concertos, sonatas, amplified piano, even the piano in the symphony orchestra.
