Cuba, Venezuela explore new areas of health cooperation
Caracas, Jan 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuba s Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas and Venezuela s Health Minister Carlos Alvarado reviewed here today the bilateral deals on health and explored new possibilities for cooperation in that sector.
In a meeting held on Friday at the Casa Amarilla (Foreign Ministry headquarters), the delegations of both countries reviewed the progress of the ongoing projects that make up the portfolio of the Cuba-Venezuela Integral Cooperation Agreement.
That agreement, stemmed from the initiative of President Hugo Chavez (1999-2013) and the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, will be 21 years old next October 30 and has been a priority of both countries since then.

Belgrade, Jan 25 (Prensa Latina) Prominent Serbian personalities and members of Parliament have requested to grant the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize to Cuba s Henry Reeve International Medical Contingent, the Norwegian Nobel Institute confirmed on Monday.
In support of an initiative by the Serbian-Cuban Friendship Association in Belgrade, four national legislators signed the document, which they accompanied with a detailed account of the actions taken by the 7,400-health worker contingent since it was founded in 2005 by then Cuban President Fidel Castro.
The fight against Ebola in Africa in 2014 and more recently, the brigades deployed in several countries, including Europe, to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, were specially emphasized.

Havana, Dec 17 (Prensa Latina) The second group of a Cuban medical brigade to contribute to the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic traveled to Mexico City on Thursday.
According to Cubaminrex, the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the dispatch of healthcare professionals from the Henry Reeve International Medical Contingent took place after Mexican authorities requested their presence.
The medical brigade is made up of 500 collaborators, who will join their Mexican colleagues to control the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
In previous months, over 800 Cuban health professionals provided medical careattention in cities of that nation, where they assisted Covid-19 patients, the Ministry of Public Health reported on its website.
