Two former members of the Civil Service Unit (CSU) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Kauswagan town in Lanao del Norte have been found guilty by the Sandiganbayan of three counts of grave coercion for forcing several individuals to leave their homes in 2013.
Rey A. Camanian and Lauro R. Diputado were sentenced to a prison term ranging from six months to three years and six months for each count.
They were the co-accused of Kauswagan Mayor Rommel Arnado, who was already convicted of the same charges on April 26, 2019.
The prosecution charged them and several unidentified persons with forcing Ibra Sambuat, Osama Sambuat, and Farhana Sambuat to leave their homes on three separate occasions on Oct. 21 and 30, and Nov. 18 in 2013.
