In fact, chairman in fact, i joined with chairman fred upton to request additional funding for communitybased organizations to help seniors actually enroll in Medicare Part d. I have that letter right here. Unfortunately the republicans have actually taken steps to ensure that consumers do not know all the benefits and protections provided by obamacare. In june, Senate Majority leader mitch mcconnell, Senate Minority whip john cornyn sent letters to major sports leagues warning them not to help could be sumers consumers be educated about the benefits of obamacare. After Medicare Part d, democrats like me hosted events in order to boost awareness and facilitate enrollment. This has not happened with obamacare. Several republican members have even stated, they will not help constituents who call and ask for more information about the benefits of obamacare and how to enroll. Those republican efforts will only harm American Families and Small Businesses and cut short the relief americans n
