The Syracuse Crunch scored twice in just 22 seconds to rally back from a two-goal deficit and force overtime, but the team was eventually downed by the Utica Comets, 5-4, tonight at the Adirondack Bank Center.
The loss moves the Crunch to 17-9-3-0 on the season and 6-4-2-0 in the 14-game season series with the Comets.
Goaltender Spencer Martin turned aside 29-of-34 shots between the pipes for the Crunch. Michael DiPietro stopped 29-of-33 in net for the Comets. Syracuse was unable to convert on four power play opportunities, while Utica went 1-for-4.

Utica, N.Y. Taylor Raddysh recorded a hat trick as the Syracuse Crunch edged the Utica Comets, 5-3, Wedneday at the Adirondack Bank Center.
The win advances the Crunch to 17-9-2-0 on the season and 6-4-1-0 in the 14-game season series with the Comets.
Crunch goaltender Spencer Martin earned the win with 19 saves. Joel Hofer turned aside 30-of-34 between the pipes for the Comets. Syracuse was 1-for-2 on the power play and went a perfect 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
The Crunch opened scoring in the back-and-forth affair 7:57 into the game. Raddysh was down low to redirect Boris Katchouk’s right circle shot. Seven minutes later, Sven Bärtschi evened the score when he went five-hole on a breakaway.

UTICA, N.Y. - After a postponement on Monday, the Utica Comets returned to action, Wednesday, falling to the Syracuse Crunch for the second straight time, this a 5-3 final from the Adirondack Bank Center.
The Crunch struck first with Taylor Raddysh tipping in a back door pass from Boris Katchouk 7:57 into the game. Lucas Carlsson had the secondary assist on the play.
