Henrietta Spearman the first African-American woman photojournalist at the Atlanta Journal and Constitution. Currently she is the Chief Operations Officer of Savvy Sentences, Inc., a small woman-owned creative writing firm.

After graduating from Georgia State with a degree in broadcast journalism, Spearman took a job as a copy carrier at the Atlanta Journal and Constitution. She began writing stories and was eventually assigned to cover the In-Town beat.
