Henrico County will host three information sessions this summer for people interested in becoming foster parents or offering respite care for other foster parents – beginning with one June 14 at Fairfield Library, 1401 North Laburnum Avenue, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The two other sessions each will take place from 6 p.m. to
Kevin Pond Kevin M. Pond will take control of the Henrico Department of Emergency Communication, which was established as an agency separate from the Division of Police in the 2023-24 budget, which begins July 1. The department will have 90 staff members and a budget of nearly $9 million in the coming fiscal year.
Participants will get the opportunity to receive instruction in noncertification bystander CPR, which is intended for individuals without formal medical training and involves only the delivery of chest compressions.

(Photo by Analise Beres for the Henrico Citizen) Henrico supervisors are poised to join other Richmond-area localities by enacting a tourism improvement district that would levy a 2% tax on hotel rooms at hotels with more than 41 rooms. The money raised through the fee
