The GP-led sites are being organised by primary care networks, which are groups of local GP practices in an area working together to deliver this vaccination programme in community locations. There are 13 PCNs, which cover the whole of Somerset, vaccinating patients. They are currently focussing on those who are over 80; frontline health and social care workers as well as care home residents and carers.
THE NHS has announced three more GP-led community sites that will start to vaccinate more of Somerset’s most vulnerable residents over the next few days. The new locations will add to the first four sites announced earlier this week as part of the developing plan to roll out the NHS vaccination programme in the county. The second wave of vaccination sites are Frome Medical Practice, Minehead Community Hospital and the Henhayes Community Centre, in Crewkerne. GP practice teams have been working hard with NHS colleagues across the county to set up local vaccination sites to enable the most vulnerable people to have their vaccinations.
