White house on the issue of vaping and underage use of ecigarettes. Were joined by andrew who covers healthcare for cq roll call. Tell us why and age vaping became a bigger issue in 2019. It was a combination of factors that really drove this to the front of the policy debate this year. One was just the yearoveryear increases in the number of teenagers reporting ecigarette use. Thats been increasing fees of years. When that is another significant increase over last year. Another was this in in a relatd but sort of distinct issue that we saw starting over the summer with vaping related illnesses that were beginning to emerge. Weve now seen thousands injured and dozens dead from this. Thats related to elicit thc vaping which is distinct from the problem of ecigarette use. But the urgency of those illnesses i think really prompted policymakers to want to respond more broadly to the vaping issues we deal with in the u. S. Tremont and the Administration Starts the new year with an announcem
Because i was going to do something that i didnt particularly enjoy, to serve customers who were not always rude, some of them were lovely, but when you are being talked to like you dont matter, i dont know, it isa you dont matter, i dont know, it is a dark place to be in. I woke up one morning and wasjust like, i actually dont have to do this. I can make changes. It was around that time that i decided to come up to loughborough. I had to choose to try and be happy and make a go of it again, and it has paid off. Im glad idid. I again, and it has paid off. Im glad i did. I am enjoying my time up here at my training improved dramatically. It is an exciting time to be involved in a sport. The iws have come down harder on cheats than they have previously, which is fantastic for clean athletes and clea n fantastic for clean athletes and clean nations. There was a Glass Ceiling of performances where we thought they had to be taking something and cheating. Ifeel like ican break something and
Identify speeding taxi drivers, speeding. And were developing a program to coach and retrain drivers to improve safety outcomes. Were also updating on vehicle camera requirements, and we do Service Audits out in the field. So we have Enforcement Team go out in the field and, test the dispatch services, request a ramp taxi test Response Rates, look for customer service. So thats an ongoing program. The point i want to emphasize on this slide is that we, imbue our work with a culture of care. And i know thats important to that, to the board. Its very important to us as well. So, how we support each other internally and then how we serve the public is critical to how we function. And, its part of everything we do. We the certificate on the right in the slide shows, its a certificate that we actually handed out to every staff member honoring each person for their years of service.
