HENDERSON, Ky. A new director has been named for the Henderson County Public Library.
The library board of trustees voted Thursday to hire former Henderson resident Shannon Sandefur, 49, as the new director with a beginning annual salary of $90,000. Subsequently, the board voted to name the library s current interim director, Amber Potts, as associate director with a beginning annual salary of $78,000.
During the meeting, the trustees commended and thanked Potts for her dedication to the library, the staff and the community during a very tumultuous year. I d like to give special thanks to Amber, said Library Board President Susan Thurman. She has led us through these last nine months with one problem after another. I m in awe of what she s done.
