A 57-year-old Oquawka man was arrested this week after allegedly being caught in possession of a tractor stolen out of Iowa. According to Henderson County Chief Deputy Matthew Link, Donald Millard was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle on Sunday, May 15. Link says the sheriff's office received a report of Millard driving a tractor that was parked at a residence in Gladstone, where the complainant stated they did not believe Millard had purchased it. Millard and the tractor were located in Gladstone and, upon investigating, deputies learned he did not purchase the farm implement and began searching for a victim. It was learned the tractor was stolen from J. J. Nichting Company in Pilot Grove, Iowa. It was valued at $125,000. He was taken to the Henderson County Jail.
An Oquawka woman has been arrested for allegedly trying to strike her husband with a vehicle. According to Henderson County Chief Deputy Matthew Link, at around 3:47 Sunday morning, deputies responded to 8th Street in Oquawka for reports of a domestic disturbance. While en route, deputies learned that both parties had left the residence. One of the individuals was located walking down the street and the suspect was following them in a vehicle. Both subjects were taken to the Sheriff's Office for interviews. As a result of those interviews, 33-year-old Sunshine Lock was alleged to have battered her spouse and attempted to strike him with a vehicle after they both had left the residence. She was taken into custody and housed in the Henderson County Jail to await a bond hearing.
