Bay Smokes is a minority-owned, woman-owned small business operating in the U.S., and its mission is to provide transparency and quality while offering federally legal THC products that consumers can trust. As cannabis consumers themselves, the founders of Bay Smokes had always wished for a milder option to the high-potency THC products on the market. The legality of standard cannabis in many states, coupled with hemp becoming federally legal, gave us the boost we needed to deliver products that would serve consumers who wanted alternatives to existing cannabinoid or tobacco p

National Hemp Association Presents Climate Action Plan

January 25, 2021 WASHINGTON January 22, 2021 In a demonstration on how Hemp is America’s next natural resource, the National Hemp Association has produced and submitted to the White House, U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, an action plan detailing how hemp can be incorporated into the major climate initiatives identified by the Biden Administration. Hemp became a legal commodity crop through the Hemp Farming Act of 2018 which was contained within the Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018.  Hemp, which had been absent in the American landscape for more than 85 years, is now seen as one of the most promising sustainable commodity crops; it not only consumes three times more CO2 than any other crop on the planet, it is used in a multitude of products including lightweight auto components, bio-plastics, housing and commercial buildings, fuel cells for electric vehicles, paper, textiles, food, cosmetics and nutraceuticals. Department of Agriculture hopes to pass bill to keep hemp regulations up-to-date | News, Sports, Jobs

Jan 19, 2021 BISMARCK – State agriculture officials are backing HB 1045, a proposal to keep the state in line with any federal changes regarding the growing of hemp. The bill includes changing the definition of hemp, leaving that to the department, as well as changes in hemp testing requirements. Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said changing the definition allows for the department to mirror the federal law easily, especially as new rules are expected to come later this year. “The problem was, our law that we had changed (in 2018), which we thought was going to mirror federal law, did not,” he said. With testing, the department now has to accept the lowest bid, which could be from an unreputable testing site in a different state, Goehring said. “The lowest bid isn’t always the best one,” he said. “We ended up having to go to Kentucky for testing, which can take three to five days just to get the product there.”
