Critics, enthusiasts, and scholars from around the world are set to arrive in northern Wyoming & southern Montana for the “XIXth Hemingway Society Conference."
Ernest Hemingway is considered by many in the literary field to be one of the most prolific authors in American literature. Books such as ‘For Whom the Bell Tolls,’ and ‘A Farewell to Arms’ are just two of his famous works. A conference that will be held in Sheridan beginning July 17 celebrates his works and his life.
This will be the first time the event has been held in Wyoming. Hemingway visited the state on many occasions during his lifetime and wrote some of his most famous works here, including 'A Farewell to Arms.' He also married his fourth wife at the Union Pacific depot in Cheyenne in 1940. The Hemingway Society, which has hosted conferences every two years since 1980, is sponsoring the event.
