Hemant Soren, the de-facto chief of the JMM, was arrested by the ED on Wednesday night after nearly seven hours of questioning on money laundering charges in an alleged land fraud case.
Late Wednesday night, Champai Soren, the state’s Transport Minister and a loyalist of the CM, had staked claim to form the government, but the Governor had sought time saying he will revert on their proposal after considering the legalities.
Meanwhile, amid the ongoing political crisis in Jharkhand, Governor CP Radhakrishnan has agreed to to meet the coalition legislators today evening. The governor has given time to meet the MLAs at 5.30 pm.
