Surat: K N Chavda, principal of J Z Shah Arts and HP Desai Commerce College, Amroli, was appointed as vice-chancellor of Veer Narmad Sought Gujarat University (VNSGU) on Friday. Chavda was among the frontrunners for the post that was held by in-charge VC Hemali Desai since August last year.
Desai was given charge of VC after the previous regular VC Shivendra Gupta’s term ended in August 2020. The three years term of Gupta had remained controversial as questions were raised against his educational qualification and his tainted service record as assistant engineer in the state government’s R&B department.
